Chelford Farm, through it's shows, clinics, schooling facilities and signature
Buckhead Horse Trials, provides a unique opprotunity for beginner riders and/or
green horses to hone their skills in cross country, jumping and dressage. The
professionally designed cross county course (see Roger Haller) will allow
Pre-Ameoba, Ameoba, Tadepole, and beginner novice riders to experience the full
scope of a real cross country compitition. At other times the course will be open
for instructors and students to school. Dressage and Jumper shows and clinics
will also focus on the Beginner rider and/or green horse.
Chelford Farm is neslted in the beautiful rolling countryside of Morgan
County,Georgia, two miles north of I-20 Exit 121. It is centrally located 1 1/2 hours
from Atlanta, Augusta, Macon and 40 minutes from Athens.
From the Buckhead exit on I-20 (Exit 121) go 1 mile north to the T stop in
Buckhead. (The Buckhead Grocery will be on your right) Turn right, go 300 yards
and turn left onto Oconee Rd. Go 8/10 of a mile, bare left and go another 8/10 mile.
You will see the sign for Chelford Farm on the right.
Chelford Farm is owned by Bill Scholly, and his wife Mattie Saffold. They and their
daughters Livy and Claire look after ten horses and raise Briards (French
sheepdogs).
